Totnes Cafe Culture and Charity Shop Hop Itinerary

The weekend has to start with a plan - so here’s a Saturday morning in Totnes to chew over.

Ethically Indulge in Refreshments

We’ll start at the top of the hill and dip into the Hairy Barista for a shake to blow any cobwebs away! Their produce is thoughtfully and ethically selected so don’t feel too guilty about indulging in something naughty.

Shakes to blow your socks off!

The Narrows for Alternative Shopping

Before you even turn the corner you’ll find lots of very funky shops at the top of town. If you like to hunt for a bargain you’ll find some delights in the Oxfam. I found this funky swatch watch there for £3. I love it!

Iconic Groceries

Move on down the hill towards the market square not forgetting to pop into Happy Apple for your fruit and veg and pretty much any kind of cuisine. Always an interesting vibe in there so worth taking a look.

Totnes Market

On a Friday and Saturday the market in Totnes is alive with great food stalls, artisan sellers and a really chilled and fun atmosphere. I love Hannah’s Ethiopian stand and Kumar’s Dosa’s. I like to find a quiet place to eat. St Mary’s church has a few benches and a nice view of the interesting people as they wonder up and down the high street.

A Bit of History

Really interesting interior - keep an eye out for interesting tiles and carvings. Make your way downhill under the arch enjoying gift and charity shop shopping on the way to head for lunch at The Curator.

By now you might be ready for lunch at The Curator at the bottom of the hill. Great for people-watching and lovely sour-dough you’ll be setup for the next stage of your day-out in Devon… to the beach!
