Lizzie (Outreach Workshop)
I really enjoyed the course and met nice people. As a beginner, I would have preferred more structure such as a step by step instruction to create something to take home rather than a more experimental approach which in my case was very unsuccessful. I enjoyed the creativity and relaxed environment and the process but was disappointed that I didn't make anything worthwhile. However, I would do another course and learn from my mistakes as I enjoyed it so much.I thoroughly enjoyed the content of the workshop.
You created a comfortable and enthusiastic atmosphere for all levels of competence.
You were generous with materials, your time and knowledge.

Loved it , Alison was enthusiastic, welcoming and extremely encouraging, her passion for ceramics was infectious. I think the class all finished feeling happy about the processes learnt and the outcomes.

Emma (Date Night)
Alison was so welcoming and had created a lovely atmosphere. Upon arrival there was music, extremely clean space with complimentary drinks provided.
Alison took time to get to know everyone present before taking us through a demo which was clear and easy to follow.
Alison was a great support throughout the workshop and has a great sense of humour, she was happy to remind us of steps and helped us throughout.
I felt comfortable and motivated throughout the session and with music in the background found the process very relaxing and calming.
Couldn't recommend Alison more!"

Helen (Children's Pottery Taster)
"Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Very hands on. Wonderful studio and environment, plenty of tools to go round. Alison was wonderful with the children, encouraging them to find their inner creativity. Lots of help and guidance, and teaching of how to work and use clay.
My son absolutely loved it and is looking forward to returning as soon as possible."

Anyone would benefit from a class at The Clay Yard …. Not only in learning a new skill which is so much fun, or gaining further knowledge if you’ve already had a go at potting, but in getting involved in a fabulous group environment with a passion for creating wonderful pieces and feeling part of a family during the experience. Try it, you WONT regret it 🥰

Julie and Joey (Ceramics for All)
Hi,
I just wanted to tell you what Joey said on the way home tonight. He said that he really enjoys our pottery night and wishes we could do another evening a week of pottery! I said that unfortunately we can’t manage that. He then said he wishes that a week was shorter so that Tuesday would come around more quickly again!!
We are both really loving our sessions with you!
Thanks!!

Great space and really good to be in a small group. Already planning to book up again."

Yes I definitely would recommend the clay yard - the atmosphere of classes is relaxed and fun, the content broad and the teaching excellent. I loved that it was quite free and allowed for individualism and creativity.

Chris (Date Night)
Hard to improve. An excellent experience, a great idea to get people to try something new. The correct level of instruction, direction and polite corrections when things going a bit wobbly on the wheel. Format very good, showing, then getting the attendees to coach their partner, really starts the learning and more importantly the understanding.
Alison is very skilled, a great teacher with knowledge and patience to help people attempt a new skill.
Easy to get to, with very good parking close by - but the main thing is a lovely space to try your hand at pottery / ceramics.

I found the day was very relaxing after a stressful few months, even though the gift was really bought for my wife. Emma had a wonderful time and we are very excited to collect the bowls and pots ☺️ We were so excited by the day and sidetracked by the glazing options that we forgot to make the placemats before we headed off for lunch which was the only disappointing part! Yes, Alison was lovely and very personable. She gave great advice and provided guidance, tea, biscuits and a lovely relaxing environment throughout the morning. Highly recommended!
